Arcade is a small team with big impact and we’re looking for a hard-working, social media specialist to join our Calgary-based crew and take the lead on our social media accounts and strategies.

The Gig

Working closely with the Social Media Director and social team, the Social Media Lead will support the development of all current retainer social media clients, projects, seasonal campaigns, and new social media business pitches. The Social Media Lead will collaborate directly with clients day-to-day to align strategic initiatives that protect and develop the integrity of their brand strategy as envisioned by Arcade Studios. You will liaise between the client and Arcade’s internal team to steward all marketing, photoshoots, campaigns, influencers, etc. to meet strategic objectives. The Social Media Lead provides client and project team leadership and is regarded by the client as a trusted advisor.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Social Media Director, Social Video Producer, and Marketing Director to brainstorm and ideate creative campaign ideas with short-term and long-term tactical executions to ensure ripple effect engagement.

  • Report to the Social Media Director on performance and impact of clients’ social media programs.

  • Conduct brand-owned and competitive audits to identify new creative campaigns and opportunities for the client. 

  • Demonstrate the highest level of customer service; convey a polished and professional demeanour with clients during day-to-day calls and emails, in-person meetings, on-site production, and photo shoots, etc. 

  • Ensure that the financial aspects of the programs/account(s) are managed according to agency procedures and liaise with the clients on any out-of-scope requests. 

  • Plan and execute assignments that are on-strategy, on time and on budget. 

  • Provide leadership in guiding internal teams across the agency to meet client goals, ensuring that the brand strategy and objectives are being met. 

  • Develop clear campaign briefs for social campaigns and creative objectives. 

  • Liaise between internal team and client for product launches, campaigns, productions, etc. 

  • Oversee all month-end reporting and ensure that reports are clear, concise, and include opportunities for growth. 

  • Be responsible for understanding how content is performing, how the online community is reacting, what is working/what is not, and identify weaknesses to optimize strategies. 

  • Stay abreast of the ever-evolving digital behaviours and trends and provide ongoing creative and strategic inspiration to the team. 

  • Act as a digital/social media evangelist across the organization, providing guidance and education when necessary. 

  • Provide insight and awareness of emerging trends and technologies, identifying one’s worth pursuing.

Qualifications:

  • Between 1-3 years of full-time social media experience, agency prefered. 

  • A deep understanding of all social media platforms and comfort with flipping between different platforms and speaking the language of each one when necessary.

  • A passion for social media and the potential it has to build brands and make waves. We’re social media advocates over here, and hope you are too. 

  • A teachable posture. This industry is always changing and we’re looking for people who are passionate about getting their hands dirty with a new platform and always being adaptable to evolve as the industry changes. 

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. 

  • Impeccable organization and time management disciplines. 

  • Comfortable with being in front of and speaking on camera for videos shared on client social media accounts.

  • Comfortable with platforms such as Slack, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Sprout, Later, Monday.com and Dropbox.
