The Arcademy

The Arcademy is a paid internship hosted by Arcade Studios for students interested in a career in Digital Marketing. 

If the agency world is an ocean, consider this your diving lessons. Focused on experiential learning, The Arcademy offers burgeoning marketers an opportunity to build their repertoire of skills, increase knowledge and collaborate with a team. We know first-hand there’s only so much a classroom can teach you –  the real lessons come while strategizing, responding and problem solving in real time.

At Arcade, we are determined to make a meaningful contribution across media and culture, and leave a mark that lingers far after we’ve gone. We’ve introduced The Arcademy to propel young creatives forward as we open up the vault to what we know and set you up for future success.

Social Media Intern

(Summer Term)

Location: Calgary, Alberta 
*No remote opportunities as program involves on-location activities
Commitment: 20-30 hours per week, May - September 2023

The Company

Arcade is an award-winning digital agency specializing in strategy, content production, social media and email marketing. We leverage engaging content and modern distribution strategies to nurture online communities, maximize brand influence and generate revenue. The Gig

Working closely with the Social Media Leads and Community Managers, the Social Media Intern will support the development of all current social media clients and ensure that strategies are executed across social platforms with excellence. The Social Media Intern will get valuable hands-on experience, supporting multiple brand social media channels, producing social content, attending meetings, and building the first wave of media programming for clients.

The Responsibilities

  • Work with the Social Media Leads and Community Managers to set, plan, draft and implement social media campaigns and strategies for clients, including drafting content and setting up content calendars according to the set marketing strategy. 

  • Act as the front line of all customer service inquiries, messages, and engagement on client social platforms. Respond in a timely manner to all inquiries and communicate any urgent inquiries to the appropriate social team member. Look for opportunities to bring excellence and innovation to every single customer engagement touchpoint. 

  • Create ongoing short-form video content for social channels, and provide on-location support for larger-scale photo and video shoots.

  • Demonstrate the highest level of customer service toward Arcade clients; convey a polished and professional demeanor with all stakeholders during day-to-day calls and emails, in-person meetings, on-site production and photoshoots, etc. 

  • Compile and collect data for end-of-month reports that help paint a picture of the success of the social program and any opportunities to improve for the next term. 

  • Work with the Social Media Leads and Community Managers to problem solve, brainstorm new campaigns and look for new ways to bring energy and higher engagement to social programs. 

  • Stay abreast of ever-evolving digital behaviors, tools and trends as they pertain to social media best practices and recommendations for consideration.


Student Eligibility:

  • Full-time and part-time student enrolled in an accredited Canadian college or university.

  • Studying any discipline, at any diploma or degree level.

  • Resides in Calgary, Alberta for the duration of the internship. 

  • Hold Canadian citizenship, Permanent Residency or refugee status (International students are not eligible).

  • Is not part of another internship program for the duration of the Arcade internship.
